Run To The Hills, Isle Of Skye 2003 Myself and Nessie had pre-booked this run months before, with the intention of driving up in Nessies daily driver......er, or is it now another project MK3 Zodiac. Well, it will soon be back on the road (wishful thinking?). As the Zodie was in the workshop I had to clean the Deuce as that was our next choice of transport. We drove up to Dunbarton, just north of Glasgow on Thursday then on to skye and the hotel at Duntulm on Friday. An Eighteen hour drive. Charlie and Irene had planned a fantastic weekend of cruising, sightseeing, show n' shining and the best accommodation I've ever had on a Rod Run. My best moments were looking ahead and seeing rods and customs as far as you can see and the same in the rear mirror!! The locals and tourists all waving, smiling and snapping pic's. The sheep......I'll say no more 'bout that. The specially labelled beer for rodders, the lone piper at a pull in in the mountains, the RAF Tornado's low flying right in front of us, the cruising (over 100 miles), the weather.........it just goes on!!! Oh and visiting Charlies house and workshop....look out for a Carson top minor on the scene!! Probably will be bi-annual from now on...give us time to save up for it.
